Trauma-Informed Practice
For Parents & Carers
We understand that finding the right support for your child can feel overwhelming. At Sevn, you are not just a contact on a form — you are a partner in your child's journey. Here is everything you need to know.
Structured Routine
Your child will follow a personalised timetable with clear start and finish times, regular breaks, and a calm learning environment — typically 9:30am to 2:30pm.
Accredited Qualifications
Students work towards NCFE qualifications in Functional Skills English & Maths, Enterprise, and Employability — real credentials recognised by employers and colleges.
Wellbeing First
We use trauma-informed approaches. Every student has a key worker who builds genuine relationships and provides consistent emotional support throughout their placement.
Small Groups
With a maximum ratio of 1 teacher and 1 teaching assistant to 8 students, your child receives far more individual attention than in a mainstream classroom.
Regular Updates
You will receive half-termly progress reports, and your child's key worker is always available to discuss how things are going. We believe parents are partners.
Progression Pathways
We work with each young person to plan their next steps — whether that is returning to mainstream school, moving to college, an apprenticeship, or employment.
Your Child's Safety Comes First
Safeguarding is not just a policy at Sevn — it is embedded in everything we do. We follow Walsall Local Authority safeguarding procedures and are committed to creating the safest possible environment for every young person.
Enhanced DBS Checks
Every member of staff and volunteer holds an enhanced DBS check, verified through our Single Central Record.
